Yes, we did the family trip to the big D last week. My parents treated us and the kids and we all had a blast! It was not a relaxing vacation, to say the least, but it was all worthwhile to see the joy and excitement on the kids’ faces. However, I was not overjoyed at the food prospects. Amusement park food is, shall we say, not the most health friendly. I pictured pigging out on ice cream, funnel cake, cotton candy and other sugary goodness the whole week we were there. Fortunately (in a weird sort of way), it was hot as Hades so I ended up “snacking†on water almost the entire week. Either that or I just sweat out all the extra pounds of sugar. But I was relieved to find the scale didn’t move at all from before we left.Â
What do you do to stay healthy on vacation?
Days after the vacation is over, I am still pouring over the pictures and trying to relive the magical moments (Disney is the most magical place on earth, isn’t it??). But rather than bore you with our family album of photos, which are most likely duplicates of pictures you have with your own family members, I thought I’d share some funny pictures that came off our camera.Â
One thing I sometimes think about, is how many pictures I end up in from other people’s cameras…you know, like in the background, or ones I accidentally walked through. Like check out this picture:
The guy in the pink shirt is NOT a part of our family, and from the look on his face, I don’t think he wants to be! After all, he probably thinks the only thing we ever do is catch flies in our mouths.
This one just shows what a ham I am for the camera. I’m the only one looking at the camera:
I’ve always told my husband he catches the most unflattering pictures of me. Case in point:
We were at a breakfast buffet, so despite the picture I was actually very happy. Especially when we had to wave our napkins like a cowboy to celebrate Mickey:
As a kid, my absolute favorite character was tubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff, Winnie-the-Pooh. And apparently Disney makes you a kid all over again.
The funny thing about this picture is yes, I know Winnie is a fictional character and I just hugged a complete human stranger. Disney does strange things to adults.
Besides being caught off guard in pictures, one of the most common photo bummers is closed eyes or red eyes.
Out of everyone, why is it Mr. Potatohead who has his eyes closed?? Now that takes a good cameraman to capture a fake character with his eyes closed…that cameraman would be me.
Well, I hope you enjoyed my non-conventional Disney photo memories. Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo!
