My goofy humor can be contagious so watch out. :-) We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and a happy Easter. The weather is finally starting to warm up for us here in Northern VA so nice Easter clothing was not covered up by thick coats or rain jackets for once.
The boys look a little disheveled in this picture because this was taken AFTER church. It seems we are always rushing to get somewhere so we didn’t have time to do a photo shoot before church.
One thing I didn’t do this year was take the boys to see the Easter Bunny at the mall. Bad Mommy. But honestly, the Easter Bunny is a little creepy if you ask me. I mean, come on Peeps (har har), think about it, it’s a human adult-sized rabbit with frozen facial features…no blinking, the mouth doesn’t move, the nose doesn’t twitch. So when I see kids screaming while on the bunny’s lap, I want to yell, “Children, I’ll save you!†and then leap over the white picket fence in a single bound and rescue these poor kids from this life-sized statue. This picture of my boys was taken a couple years ago. My youngest’s face says it all.Â
What I really wanted to do was find a picture of me as a child on the Easter Bunny’s lap to post here, so we can all see how he has not evolved at all. With all these makeup techniques you see in movies, you’d think they’d at least make the Bunny more life-like. So as soon as I get to my parents’ house, I’ll grab one of those pictures and post. Do you have your childhood Easter Bunny picture? Do share so I can post them and we can compare notes!
In other news, I made a fabulous Easter brunch for our family, if I do say so myself. The menu included Spinach & Feta Quiche (which got RAVE reviews), a french toast bake (not so healthy but oh so good!), sausage rolls, muffins, fruit and marshmallow fluff dip (see french toast bake comment) and yummy, refreshing mimosas! Add that to all the Easter candy I snuck out of the kids’ baskets and it’s a good thing I ran 6 miles on Saturday and hit the gym today.Â
Happy Easter and Happy Spring to everyone!
[…] I also promised you all in a previous post that I would share a childhood picture of me with the Easter […]
