A couple weeks ago I wrote an article about my 10 minutes of model “fameâ€. Well those 10 minutes, and a new friend, Leigh Macdonald, of Nice Shoes, No Drama, led to another 10 (more like 30) minutes last night. Deena and I and my two other friends, Sarah and Kate, modeled clothes for a Girl Night Out event. The event was held at a local boutique gift store, The Dandelion Patch, and featured clothes from a nearby clothing store, Rich Hippie. I would never use either of those words, rich or hippie, to describe myself, but the clothes were fabulous and we had so much fun! I will definitely be going back to BOTH stores in the very near future. And the Dandelion Patch donated a percentage of sales for the night to the Avon Walk team I am on, The Step Sisters. How awesome is she for doing that?
When I look at this picture, I realize just how blessed I am to have such amazing friends in my life. That was actually the best part of the evening for me…spending it with 3 friends from 3 different walks of my life. I didn’t think about this until I sat down to write this recap, but now that I look at this picture, it just makes me feel all warm inside (yes, I’m getting a little sappy here). Now I will digress from the evening festivities and talk about these amazing women.
From left to right, after me:
Kate is my newest friend of the 3. We met out and about in the neighborhood, at school functions and Pampered Chef parties and have known each other for a few years. Our 4 year olds are BFFs, and our hubbies (the other kids in our lives) have taken a strong liking to each other. :-) We’ve agreed that our husbands were built from the same mold…it’s kind of creepy. And do not attempt to adjust your screen, she really is model-material tall and beautiful.
Sarah is my oldest friend from childhood. We think we met in 4th grade. :-) I meet her weekly for coffee with another childhood friend and we have started an annual girls’ weekend tradition. Sarah and I have been in and out of each other’s lives for almost 30 years (OMG I just totally dated myself!) and I think now we’re in it for good, which I love! I live for our weekly coffees….her friendship makes me happy.
And most of you know beautiful Deena. Deena and I met in high school. Just like Sarah, our life paths have crossed in and out since high school, but we always find our way back to each other. :-) I was so glad she was able to share this event with me. We don’t live super close to each other, so I cherish the times we are actually both at the same place at the same time.
So when I look at this picture, it makes me think of my life journey. So many memories formed with these ladies and I hope to create many more. Thank you all for a wonderful night. MWAH! 😉
