After 2 serious posts by Deena and I, I felt the urge to type something a little more lighthearted.Â
This month I celebrate another year of life. At one time, this was exciting…one more year closer to independence, adulthood, maturity. Now it’s just one more year of getting older and celebrating is totally overrated. But I’ve found a way to look on the bright side.
I just got the mail and guess what I discovered in my mailbox of surprises (you just never know what you’re going to get, right?)? First, my Silpada ring that I ordered at a Silpada party I hosted last week (which raised $350 for the MDA Walk I might add!). Â
Gorgeous! The picture doesn’t do it justice. Happy Birthday month to me.
I also received what looked like a card but it was a coupon…not $.50 or $1.00 off some grocery store product, but a $20, yes I said $20, coupon for the Vera Bradley outlet. Score! It was in the form of a birthday card and is good for the entire month of April. Happy Birthday month to me!
So then I started thinking about all the coupons I have received in the past couple weeks for giving out my email address to stores, risking loads and loads of junk email, that are just because I am turning a year older this month and I came up with the following:
$5 off at DSW shoes – momma needs a new pair of shoes!
20% off at Misguided Angels, which is a boutique store near me where I will be purchasing these jeans after much convincing from friends
$10 off at Victoria’s Secret (wait, is that for my birthday or the hubby’s??)
Update: I have also received $20 off at Sunglass Hut, which couldn’t be more perfect because sporty sunglasses is on my birthday wish list!  And I just got $10 off my next Origins order of $25 or more. Happy birthday month to me!!
I’m sure there are more I’m forgetting, and the month is not over, so there may be more in my future. But it definitely puts a brighter prospective on this whole aging thing. I guess eventually these coupons will turn into senior citizen discounts, but let’s take it one year at a time.Â
Anywho, how does all this relate to my Everyday Road to Healthy? Why any girl knows that retail therapy is a HUGE stress reliever which is good for the mind and soul! Unless of course you are shopping for jeans or bathing suits, which could get rather depressing.Â
Anyway, Happy Birthday month to me!
