Forget the paparazzi, I was part of the mamarazzi this weekend! After a long day of walking 26.2 miles for the Avon Walk, we came back to our hotel, which happened to be where the White House Correspondent’s dinner was being held. Coincidence? Well, last year it was, but this year we kinda, sorta planned it that way. :-) Last year the official Avon Walk hotel was the same hotel at which the White House Correspondent’s dinner was held. This year, Avon changed the location (probably because of the crazy Step Sisters last year flashing their cameras in all the stars’ faces and yelling, “Bon Jovi we love you!â€). But a few of the crazy Step Sisters came back for round two and ditched the official Avon Walk hotel for the official “celebrity hotelâ€.
Here’s more information on the 2011 White House Correspondent’s dinner if you’re interested, but who cares because the important question is, who did we see?? We did not see Mr. President, although it was pretty cool to watch the speech from the hotel lobby knowing the big man himself was in the ballroom below us. Also, these pictures are not all-inclusive since some Step Sisters saw other celebrities I didn’t see, or my camera just didn’t take the picture fast enough.
Some others that were there but either escaped the mamarazzi or snuck in another entrance were Donald Trump, Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet (my favorite show, by the way), Sean Penn and Scarlett Johansson, Cee Lo Green (“I see you driving ‘round town with the girl I love, and I’m like, forget youâ€â€¦.you know that song is now going to be stuck in your head all day), Matthew Morrison and Anna Paquin, just to name a few.
It was definitely an exciting end to the day. My favorite part was when these 3 little boys, probably about 10 years old, came running up to their dad telling him they were going to get to meet Cee Lo Green (dad was probably thinking, “see who?â€) and then two of the boys proceeded to jump up and do a chest bump. So cute! But the night ended quickly as I drifted off to sleep waiting in one of the lobby chairs to get one last look as the celebrities left. All of a sudden it wasn’t so exciting anymore and all I wanted was a pillow and to rest my tired legs. So I passed off my camera to a fellow Step Sister and called it a night (so technically I didn’t see Shaun White live, in the flesh, but my camera did).
Here’s a video our fearless leader and team captain, Liz, captured of some of the celebrities coming in. I don’t know who all those crazy ladies are doing all the hootin’ and hollerin’ in the background, ahem….
