Yesterday was the home stretch for me….day 3 of my Blue Print Cleanse adventure. And I must say, it was the best I felt in the whole process. I think I could have gone another couple days if I had already invested in it, although I’m sitting here really looking forward to eating a banana for breakfast rather than drinking a green juice!
Some questions I have received from friends about this cleanse:
Do you feel like you have more energy? I wish I could say I had that energetic, euphoric feeling that the website says I may experience, but I didn’t. However, I’m not a normally sluggish person anyway so it’s possible that the effect on me wasn’t as noticeable. I imagine someone who is weighed down by a lot of processed foods and sugar would notice this benefit a lot more than I did. I am actually surprised I didn’t feel a lack of energy, which was my fear. I was afraid that the lack of food would make me tired, but it didn’t.
How many calories are you taking in during the cleanse? If I add up the nutritional value on the six bottles, I get 1,070 calories per day. While this seems low, as I said in the previous question, it didn’t effect my ability to function normally (even going to the gym). No lightheadedness, only a headache on day 1, and no tiredness.
Are you hungry all the time? Not all the time, but a lot of the time. But it wasn’t so bad because around the time I would start getting hungry, it would be time for me to drink another juice. My regular eating habits keep me from getting hungry because I eat a little bit all day long, so day 1 of getting use to this feeling of hunger was the worst for me. Day 2 and 3 were much better. When I am off the cleanse and get hungry, it doesn’t take long for me to get shaky and lightheaded if I don’t eat something quickly (probably the drop in glucose levels), but during this cleanse, I never felt shaky or lightheaded.
How is everything making it’s way out of my body?  That’s a nice way of asking if I’m going to the bathroom a lot! And there’s no eloquent way to answer this so forgive me. :-) For the most part I was just peeing a lot. The end of day 2 when my stomach started bothering me, I did have a bit of diarrhea so not sure what that was about. I wasn’t eating anything solid, but it’s possible it was solid food that was lingering from before the cleanse. Kind of makes you think, doesn’t it? How long are things just sitting in your stomach before it finally exits your body?
I’ve also heard of people smelling bad during the cleanse because of toxins sweating out their pores. I didn’t experience this…at least I don’t think I did. No one asked what that stench was when they were around me so hopefully I wasn’t a walking stink bomb!
Am I losing weight? A raw, liquid diet of 1,070 calories per day for 3 days….I think that answers the question. Of course I lost weight. In 3 days I am down 4 lbs. This was not a reason I did the cleanse, but I must admit I happily noticed some fat reduction on my abs and butt….SCORE!!!
Would I do the cleanse again? Ah, the million dollar question. I would never say never…but not again for a while. My eating habits aren’t so bad, I’m still maintaining a healthy weight and exercising regularly. But with that said, I’m very glad I did it. First I feel like I accomplished something great for myself. But also I think this was the jump start I needed to make healthier changes to my diet. If you are considering a cleanse, I think this is a great, simple one to try. I would definitely recommend giving it a try at least once.
So, the next few days I will be easing back into a normal diet, per their recommendation. Today I will be sticking with fruits and raw veggies and will slowly incorporate other foods back into my diet. Since I spent the money on the cleanse and actually stuck with it, I might as well make it a lasting benefit by making healthier decisions. After all, bikini season is just around the corner! Now, off to eat my banana….
