About

Welcome! We’re so happy you’re here!

About Angela:

I am a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend and I am also a breast cancer survivor. Individually these things do not define me, but together they make me who I am today.

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, my first thoughts were about my 2 boys. Would I be around to watch them grow? I found the strength through family and friends to get through my treatments and consider myself blessed to be here today. While I had no control over my diagnosis, I could control other things in my life and in my family’s life to try and prevent disease and keep my family healthy.

Changing the meals I was preparing for my family was a step in the right direction but I am constantly finding other ways to improve our lifestyle and love sharing these ways with others. I want Everyday Road to Healthy to be a place another mom, wife, sister, friend, SURVIVOR, can go to look for ways to make small changes, small changes that make us feel like we’re in control of our health, life, future.

About Deena:

When I became a mom, I thought nothing could change my life more—until 2010, when my oldest son, Owen, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare bone cancer. I never imagined a healthy, active teenager could get cancer. But he did. And everything changed.

I dove into research, looking for answers. While there’s no known cause of osteosarcoma, doctors and scientists are working tirelessly to find one. Through my charity, WestRash Charities, we raise tens of thousands annually for pediatric cancer research and Make It Better Missions—helping kids facing cancer.

Along the way, I discovered recurring themes—what we eat, how we clean, and the choices we make for our environment all matter. It was overwhelming at first, but I learned that small changes add up. One step at a time, I built a healthier, more eco-friendly lifestyle for myself and my family.

Owen passed away in 2012, but his journey continues to inspire everything I do.
