What I’m Reading
One Perfect Couple by Ruth Ware is a gripping thriller filled with mystery, unexpected twists, and suspenseful moments. The story follows a group of contestants on a reality TV show set on a remote island, where what starts as a competition quickly turns into a chilling fight for survival. This fast-paced page-turner kept me hooked from start to finish—perfect for a weekend escape!
What I’m Loving
My parents gifted me the DASH Rapid Egg Cooker a couple years ago, however I only recently started using it—and now it’s a weekly staple in my kitchen. This compact little gadget can cook up to six eggs at a time and has multiple settings for hard-boiled, soft-boiled, poached eggs, scrambled eggs, and even omelets. But honestly, I just use it for hard-boiled eggs, and it does that job perfectly! The one-touch operation and auto shut-off make it effortless, and peeling the eggs has never been easier. If you’ve ever struggled with stubborn shells or overcooked eggs, this is a total game-changer. Plus, it’s small enough to store easily and super easy to clean. I’m kicking myself for not using it sooner! (side note – it’s currently less than $20 on Amazon)
What I’m Practicing
I’ve been under the weather this week, so I’ve been focusing on lymphatic drainage massage to help my body recover. This gentle technique encourages lymph flow, reducing congestion and promoting detoxification. It’s been a simple yet effective way to relieve some of the discomfort and support my immune system. Just a few minutes of light, intentional movements make a big difference in how I feel!
How to Do Lymphatic Drainage Massage:
- Start at the Neck: Lightly place your fingertips just below your ears and gently stroke downward toward your collarbone.
- Move to the Collarbone: Using soft, sweeping motions, massage from the center of your collarbone outward.
- Work on the Arms: Lightly stroke from the wrist up toward the armpits in a gentle, upward motion.
- Massage the Belly: Use circular motions with light pressure around the navel, moving outward in slow, clockwise circles to support digestion and lymphatic flow.
- Behind the Knees: Gently press and massage behind the knees in an upward motion to stimulate lymph drainage in the lower body.
- Repeat as Needed: Perform each movement 5–10 times, keeping pressure light and movements slow to stimulate the lymphatic system without overstressing the body.
what i’m COOKING
Being sick threw off my energy, and cooking a full meal just wasn’t happening. That’s when Pacific Foods Organic Tomato Basil Soup came to the rescue. It’s quick, nourishing, and made with simple organic ingredients—exactly what I needed to keep myself (and my family) fed without the hassle. The flavor is rich and creamy, with the perfect balance of tangy tomato and fresh basil. I love topping it with parmesan, croutons, or pairing it with a crispy grilled cheese for extra comfort. It’s proof that healthy eating doesn’t have to be complicated—sometimes, it’s about finding simple swaps that make life easier and keep you feeling good!
And that’s my four things for this week. Stay healthy!
