Welcome back to another edition of Four Things on Everyday Road to Healthy! This is where we share what we’ve been READING, LOVING, PRACTICING, and COOKING lately. Whether it’s a new book, a wellness habit, or a favorite meal, we hope you find something here that inspires you.
Today’s edition is by Deena.
What I’m Reading
I’ve recently picked up The Summer Pact by Emily Giffin, and I’m already hooked. It’s about four college friends—Lainey, Tyson, Summer, and Hannah—who make a pact to always be there for each other, no matter what. But life has a way of testing friendships, and a decade later, they’re forced to come together again, facing old wounds and new beginnings. It’s a heartfelt story about love, loss, and second chances—perfect for cozy winter nights.
Have you read this one? What’s on your reading list this winter?

Final Rating (3 out of 5 stars): The story didn’t really hold my interest as much as I’d hoped, and the alternating first-person POV was confusing at times, making it hard to know who was speaking. Overall, I’d give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
What I’m Loving
Lately, I can’t get enough of my Bartesian Cocktail Machine. It’s been such a fun addition to my evenings, letting me enjoy delicious, bar-quality cocktails at home with just the push of a button. Whether I’m in the mood for a margarita or an old-fashioned, it delivers perfectly crafted drinks every time. It’s like having my own personal bartender without ever leaving the house! Plus, it can also whip up some amazing mocktails, which has been perfect for Dry January or when I just want a refreshing, alcohol-free option.
What I’m Practicing
I’ve been making an effort to stick with 10-minute morning meditations that I find on the Peloton App or YouTube. Starting my day with just a short session helps me feel more centered and less stressed. I love how easy it is to find a quick guided meditation that fits my schedule and sets a positive tone for the day.

what i’m COOKING
This is my dad’s recipe. This was one of my family’s favorite dish to enjoy when we lived in Germany during my childhood. It’s the perfect comfort food for chilly days—rich, hearty, and full of delicious flavors. The slow cooker makes it incredibly easy to prepare, and the aroma that fills the house while it simmers is just amazing.
