I am a 16 year breast cancer survivor. I wear this badge humbly because I know not everyone gets to wear it. But I also know it is deserving of a celebration because it was not an easy road. And the month of October, with all the pink, always brings up so many emotions thinking about our lives 16 years ago. On our blog today I share with my fellow breast cancer survivors ways we can navigate & even embrace October. This month is a reminder of resilience. Let’s navigate it in our own beautiful ways. 💖✨

1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer

1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. That’s me, I was the 1 in 8. Having a good doctor who listened to my concerns and recommended I get a mammogram is what saved my life. I am one of the fortunate ones. I hope this post reminds at least one person to schedule their mammogram. 🩷

It’s dance video time! 💜 This is from my Adult Contemporary class. Our awesome instructor creates these videos for us each month after a few weeks of choreography. Volunteering to dance a solo is scary, but as our instructor says, “If it doesn’t scare you, it won’t change you.” 💜 I love getting back into dance! And doing something I love never feels like exercise!

Just me staring at drywall while lifting my weights and acknowledging I’m a work in progress.
