Welcome to a new series on Everyday Road to Healthy, Four Things, where we will share one thing from each category of what we are READING, LOVING, PRACTICING and COOKING. These topics are meant to be somewhat broad because everyday health encompasses so many things, from physical health to mental health, from skin care to home care. We hope by sharing things from our everyday lives, you discover something new or something relatable. Today’s edition is by Angela.
what i’m reading
I’ve added quite a few personal development books to my reading list this year. Currently I’m reading one that has been been around a while, but is found on almost every self-improvement book list, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey. I still struggle with reading for learning instead of reading for pleasure, but so far I’m feeling positive about what books like this one will do for my mindset. Have you read this book? Have you implemented any of the 7 habits?
what i’m loving
A non-toxic, anti-aging skincare product I’m LOVING right now is Primally Pure Plumping Serum. I use it both morning and night and love how it makes my skin look and feel. I use quite a few Primally Pure products and want to try others in their plumping line, but this one is definitely a keeper!

what i’m PRACTICING
The first week in January I signed up for a free 5-day declutter challenge by The Decluttered Mom. One of the challenges was to completely clear off your bathroom counter and move items into a.m. and p.m. “get ready” containers, which I have organized in my underutilized medicine cabinet. It took me a few days to complete because once I cleared the counter, I was ALL IN for decluttering my whole bathroom sink. But I really love the change! It gives me such a sense of peace to walk in to my bathroom and see a clear counter. Clutter in my house has been a BIG cause of my stress lately and I’m determined to do something about it, one counter or cabinet at a time.
what i’m COOKING
Okay this isn’t technically cooking, but a product I have incorporated into my meals. I found these low carb, whole wheat tortillas at Trader Joe’s and am trying to use them for quick, easy and healthy lunches. I have been filling them with egg whites & sun dried tomatoes, and grilled chicken & feta cheese. I brown them a bit to give them a little crunch. 1 tortilla is 45 calories, 9g carbs and 3g protein. So far so good!
And that’s Angela’s Four Things for today! Let us know what you think of this series and if there are any particular favorites of ours that you want to know more about! And as always, stay healthy!
