This is one of my favorite fish recipes. My dad fixed this recipe for our family a few summers back and it’s been one of our regular menu items ever since. It takes about 20 minutes from fridge to plate to make . The chile pepper sauce is a dipping sauce so can be omitted for those who may not like spicy foods.
Tuna Steaks with Hot Chile Pepper Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 fresh jalapeno pepper, finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp dijon-style mustard
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 4 tuna steaks
- 4 tsp olive oil
- ground red pepper
Directions:
- In a small bowl combine mayonnaise, jalapeno pepper, mustard, and lemon juice. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve
- Preheat grill to medium heat
- Rinse fish, pat dry with paper towels. Combine oil and red pepper; brush half of the oil mixture over both sides of fish
- Place fish on greased grill rack over heat for 8 to 12 minutes (until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork)Â Brush with remaining oil mixture halfway through grilling
- Serve fish with hot chile pepper sauce
